This is the view from Vogelgat Nature Reserve outside of Hermanus (Western Cape, South Africa) and it also happens to be were I am collecting data for my honours research project.
The Vogelgat NR is in a biodiversity hotspot (Cape Floristic Region) that is as diverse in floral (particularly fynbos) and faunal species. The levels of endemism and diveristy is equal to the diversity and endemism you will find in tropical rainforests.

This is an impression of a Trilobite headshield also found near Ceres, South Africa. All quite exciting considering that this lil guy hasn’t seen the light more than 400 Million years.
